Career and Technical Education

Holmes High School offers a variety of Career & Technical Education programs and pathways. Students complete a Pathway to Careers class during their ninth grade year to better prepare for a CTE pathway selection beginning their tenth grade year. Below is detailed information about the programs and pathways we offer at Holmes High School.

Construction Technology Program
Residential Carpenter Assistant Pathway–a four course dual credit sequence preparing students for a career within the construction industry. Standards taught align to NCCER assessment. Students are encouraged to participate in SkillsUSA to expand their learning outside of the classroom.

Media Arts Program
Graphic Design Pathway–a four course dual credit sequence preparing students for a career within the design industry. Standards taught align to Adobe Certifications. Students are encouraged to participate in SkillsUSA or TSA to expand their learning outside of the classroom.

Business & Marketing Program
Management/Entrepreneurship Pathway–a four course sequence preparing students for a career within the business industry. Standards taught align to the Assessment of Knowledge and Skills for Business Assessment. Students are encouraged to participate in DECA to expand their learning outside of the classroom.

Health Sciences Program
Patient Care Technician Pathway–a four course sequence preparing students for a career within the healthcare industry. Standards taught are aligned to the NHA Patient Care Technician Assessment. Students are encouraged to participate in HOSA to expand their learning outside of the classroom. Some courses within the pathway are dual credit eligible.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW)
Biomedical Sciences Pathway–a four course sequence preparing students for a career within the healthcare industry. Standards taught are aligned to the NOCTI Biotechnology Assessment. Students are encouraged to participate in HOSA to expand their learning outside of the classroom.

Leadership Program
Marine Corps Junior ROTC Leadership–a four course sequence preparing students for a leadership career. Students are not required to enlist in the military by completing this program. Standards taught are aligned to the Marine Corp Instructional Model. Students are encouraged to participate in drill team and community services opportunities to expand their learning outside of the classroom.

Advanced Manufacturing Program
Welder-Entry Level Pathway–a four course sequence preparing students for a career within the advanced manufacturing industry. Standards taught are aligned to the American Welding Society SENSE certification. Students are encouraged to participate in SkillsUSA to expand their learning outside of the classroom.

Information Technology Program
Computer Programming Pathway–a four course sequence preparing students for a career within the IT industry. Standards taught are aligned to the Certiport Assessments for Computer Programming. Students are encouraged to participate in SkillsUSA or TSA to expand their learning outside of the classroom.
