The Holmes High School IB Theory of Knowledge Class is sponsoring a Day of Love & Unity on Thursday, February 12. The students want to show support for our diverse student body, as well as celebrate community spirit. To participate, everyone is encouraged to wear red.
In addition, Holmes High School and Covington Independent Public Schools are aware of a student-planned, student-led walkout scheduled for Thursday afternoon. While neither the school nor the district sponsors student walkouts, we will not impede students who choose to participate. The right to peacefully assemble is a fundamental right of all Americans.
Staff members will not encourage students to leave class or to remain in class during this time. Instruction will continue as scheduled. Please note that the safety of our students is always our top priority.
The district’s Code of Conduct will remain in effect throughout the school day, and disciplinary measures will be enforced as necessary.
