🌟 HUGE NEWS FROM HOLMES HIGH SCHOOL! 🌟
We are absolutely bursting with Bulldog pride today! Please join us in a massive round of applause for Londy Morales Marroquin, who has been selected for the prestigious 2026 Governor's Scholars Program (GSP).
Being chosen for GSP is no small feat—it is one of the highest honors a high school student in Kentucky can achieve. This selection recognizes more than just a GPA; it highlights students who represent the "best and brightest" across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Londy's selection for the 2026 GSP is a direct result of her academic rigor, leadership, and dedication. This achievement is a true reflection of Londy's intelligence, character, and grit. Congratulations, Londy!🎓🎉

Huge thank you to Kareem Simpson (work-based mentor, Duncanson Program Manager at Taft Museum of Art, and Holmes High School alumna) and Krista King-Oaks (Assistant Director of School-Based Learning for the Cincinnati Art Museum) for providing an incredible tour for our HHS students as part of the Covington Work-Based Mentoring Program!
Ms. King-Oaks brought the experience to life by sharing the work of Robert S. Duncanson, a renowned 19th-century landscape painter born in Covington, Kentucky who became one of the first internationally recognized African American artists. Students had the unique opportunity to compare and contrast Duncanson’s work they’ve studied at the Taft with pieces at the CAM, deepening their understanding and appreciation.
In addition to exploring Duncanson’s paintings and other notable works of art, students also learned about a variety of career and volunteer opportunities in the arts, including roles such as curators, docents, museum educators, conservators, exhibit designers, archivists, and visitor services staff.
We’re so grateful for community partners who open doors, spark curiosity, and help students see what’s possible!
