Below are the parent nominees for the 2025-2026 School-Based Decision Making Council. Voting will take place tomorrow, Thursday, May 29, in the front lobby.
Hi! My name is Katie Wilmhoff, and I’m the proud mom of three students at Ninth District Elementary—Ayden, who’s heading into 2nd grade, and twins Emilia and Cecilia, who will be starting 1st grade. I’m excited to put my name forward for the School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council because I care deeply about my children’s education and the overall well-being of our school community. Over the past two years, I’ve been really encouraged by the positive direction the school has taken under its new leadership, and I’d love the opportunity to support and build on that momentum. Being actively involved in my children’s lives and their school is incredibly important to me, and I see serving on the SBDM Council as a meaningful way to contribute and stay connected. Professionally, I bring a strong background in leadership and organization from years in management roles, where I gained valuable experience working with teams and making thoughtful, collaborative decisions. I’m also a college-educated graphic designer with 17 years of experience creating event materials and promotional content—skills I’d be happy to use to support school events, communication efforts, or other initiatives. I’m approachable, open-minded, and passionate about supporting not only my own children but all students, teachers, and families in our school community. I’d be honored to represent parents on the SBDM Council and help continue moving our school in a positive direction. Thank you so much for your consideration!
Sarah Brown
My name is Sarah Brown. I am the proud mother of Autumn Brown, Silas Brown, and Adaline Brown. All my children will be students in the Ninth District 2025-2026 school year. I am a highly active parent and know several of the children in each of my children's classrooms. You can call me the unofficial classroom mom; the kids call me "Mrs. Sarah". I collaborate very closely with the school administration, the nurse, teachers, and specialists. I strive to insert myself into several school events. I am active in offering support to the classrooms and sign up often to participate in events throughout the year to make school a place to learn, but also a place of fun. I am and want to be an advocate not only for my children but for each child. I have a big heart and want to see each child be given the tools, resources and support they richly deserve to have strong building blocks, especially in the early years, for hopes and dreams for success for each child in the future. I would love the opportunity to learn more about our school district, collaborate even more closely with teachers, and help make our school even more successful than it is now. I would love the opportunity to be considered for School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) council member and hope to have your support. Let us make each day better together for the ones that matter most, our children.
